How to choose a Tanis preheat system for Continental and Lycoming piston engines:
Select your engine from the “Categories” list to the left. Keep in mind that all Tanis systems heat the oil, crankcase, and cylinders. We do not manufacture, nor do we recommend systems that heat the oil only.
Cylinder heating options:
Tanis offers several ways to heat the cylinders, all are compatible with engine monitoring systems with CHT sensors.
Lycoming Engines: Select the system that uses the TAS104 element that takes the place of one of the intake manifold tube studs (Premium System), or the TAS100 element that inserts in the CHT well (Standard System).
Continental Engines: Select the system that uses the TAS107 element that takes the place of one of the rocker cover bolts (Premium System). Other options are the system that uses the TAS76 element that mounts on the cylinder head, or the TAS100 element that inserts in the CHT well (Standard Systems).
Keep in mind that only the most common systems appear on this website. Please give us a call if you do not find a system that looks right for your engine and airframe. We will be glad to help you.
