Tanis Supports Aviation Education

A new high school aviation course is currently being taught at the Pellston Regional Airport. Dean Paul, the superintendent of Alanson schools and a pilot himself, saw the need in the airline industry and brought the idea to the Charlevoix-Emmet Intermediate School District last spring.  Classes began this past fall under the direction of instructor Larry Froede and there are currently 13 high school students enrolled from five area schools. Roughly half of the students are hoping to become pilots, while the others are considering their options in the industry.  To read more about this program click on the links below:
